After earning her Engineering degree, Carol Ann spent 20 years in Research & Development solving customer technical issues and leading global R&D projects. Drawing on her love of working with numbers and helping people, she transitioned her career to financial planning in 2009.

Jon Hantho

artsci’82 (sociology)

Principal, Janus Advisory Services

Jon currently serves as Board Chair of LifeLabs and Executive Board Chair of CBI Health Group. He is also a member of several advisory Boards including: the Ivey Business School, the Ivey Business School Leadership Institute, the Dean’s Council for Arts and Sciences at Queen’s University and the Senior Advisory Panel for OMERS Infrastructure. In addition to the above commitments, Jon follows his passion for business creation in Canada as a coach and mentor to entrepreneurs and developing executives.

In 2015, Jon completed nine years as CEO of Maxxam Analytics, Canada’s largest and leading analytical services company serving the energy, environmental, food and DNA markets. Under his leadership the business more than doubled in size and financial performance through business expansion, innovation and a culture of integrity. The business was private equity and management owned prior to its successful sale to global industry leader, Bureau Veritas.

Prior to Maxxam, Jon was the founder and President of a business communications services company as well as holding several successful senior leadership roles across a variety of industries and company sizes/stages.

Jon has an MBA from the Ivey Business School and an Honours BA from Queen’s University. Jon is a 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® award winner for his successful leadership at Maxxam. He was also awarded a National Special Citation for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Jon has been both a regional and national judge for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year® for 2014, 2015 &2016. In 2013, Jon was recognized for his contributions to Canadian industry in the field of chemistry and awarded the Purvis Memorial Award of the Society for Chemical Industry.

Richard Stephenson

ARTSCI’87 (politics)

Managing Director

Richard (Rich) Stephenson is based in New York and is currently the head of the firm’s Wholesale Payments Sales teams and MNC Banking Coverage. The MNC coverage team is part of JPMorgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank and works with large corporations on their full banking needs in international locations where they do business. Rich is a member of the Global Corporate Banking Management team, the Wholesale Payments Global Management team, and the North America Balance Sheet Committee.

Rich has over 30 years of banking experience having joined JPMorgan in Tokyo in 1999 to head the firm’s international rates derivatives coverage team. Before joining JPMorgan, Rich was an interest rate cash and derivatives marketer for a competitor institution in London and Tokyo. In 2002, Rich moved to New York and over the subsequent 10 years held a variety of senior roles in the firm’s credit and equity derivative businesses. Before moving into banking in 2014, Rich was Co-Head of Investor Services Sales in North America. Investor Services provides institutional investors and broker dealers with a suite of services including custody, clearing, collateral management as well as prime brokerage and financing.

Rich is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University, and a MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. Rich is a member of the Dean’s Council for Arts and Sciences at Queen’s University, and the Advisory Board of the Ivey Business School.

Rupel Ruparelia

Rupel has been in the investment industry since 1994. He started in the mutual fund client service of Richardson Greenshields. Rupel joined Rob Richards in early 1996 as Trader and Research Associate.

Rupel graduated from Queen's University in 1993 with a B.A. in economics. He has completed various industry courses, including the Ivey Executive Program at the University of Western Ontario, and the CFA program in 1999.

David Kincaid

Among the most recognized and respected opinion leaders in North American brand management, David is the Founder and Managing Partner of Level5 Strategy, one of Canada’s leading strategic brand consultancies, and author of “The Value of a Promise Consistently Kept™.”

Previously, David was CMO at Corus Entertainment and helped set their corporate vision, values and positioning. Before Corus, he was SVP of Marketing and Strategic Planning at Labatt Breweries of Canada leading their U.S., Mexico and Dominican Republic expansion with successful brand launches for Budweiser, Stella Artois and Keith’s. His career began at General Foods and American Express.

David frequently presents at conferences and leading Canadian business schools and serves as Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. In 2013, he was inducted into the American Marketing Association’s “Marketing Hall of Legends.”
