Carol-Ann Bud (Sci’89- Engineering Chemistry)

FINANCIAL CONSULTANT, INVESTORS GROUP FINANCIAL 

A member of the Sagamok Anishawbek First Nation, Dr. Budd remains a mentor, role model and a strong supporter of Aboriginal programs and initiatives at Queen’s.

Dr. Budd is passionate about science, technology, engineering, and math. Having begun her journey at Queen’s within the Faculty of Arts and Science studying Chemistry, she eventually settled on Engineering Chemistry. As a community member of Queen’s Aboriginal Council and former member of the University Council, Dr. Budd has a unique perspective as to how the University acknowledges and includes Aboriginal culture in its administrative planning and educational programming. 

She now works as a financial consultant with Investors Group in Kingston. Prior to joining Investors Group, she spent 20 years in Research & Development as a professional engineer solving complex customer technical issues and leading global R&D projects.

Scott Megginson (Arstci’89 - Drama)

Dean’s Council, Chair & President Canada, Insights, Kantar

The son of two Alumni, Scott graduated from Queen’s with a degree in Drama in 1989.  While at Queen’s he served two years on the AMS, as Stage Manager then Director of the Queen’s Entertainment Agency.

After graduation, Scott pursued a career as a professional musician with his band from Queen’s.  During that period, he transitioned into a career in Market Research, beginning with the Angus Reid Group, where he spent eight years learning the practice from field through to client management. Scott spent the next 11 years on the client side, with Warner Lambert (Adams Brands), and then PepsiCo Canada where he launched and directed the Consumer Insights function for Pepsi Cola Canada (followed by Quaker, Tropicana, and Gatorade). Scott’s work at PepsiCo was recognized with the Chairman’s Award in 2008, followed by a move into sales as Director of Category Management.

In 2010, Scott returned to the consulting in the role of President Canada of Kantar (formerly Kantar Millward Brown Canada).
